Job Summary

Provide electrical and automation technical support to the factory daily operation, safety/quality improvements, establish systems for data collection and tracking, and support capital projects from the E&A field. Responsible for design, selection, costing, installation, testing, commissioning, startup of the hardware and software process control systems including associated instrumentation. Improve and maintain all aspects related to Electricity, Automation, Process Control, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and the Factory Automation System (FAS) infrastructure, applications, and resources in the factory according to Nestlé corporate strategies, standards, specifications and local codes and regulations in the market according and corporate strategies.

In alignment with Act 593(B), this position is considered safety sensitive as this employee provides technical support for the electrical and automation systems of the factory.

• Support Operations
  • Participate in Daily Operation Reviews to prioritize daily support needs related to E&A
  • Participate in Weekly Operation Reviews to review and prioritize mid-term E&A improvement initiatives
• Project Support
  • E&A support to projects
  • Conduct estimation, and execution of small to large scale maintenance and investment projects for the factory
  • Develop and implement project descriptions, plans, timelines, resources requirements, costs and other associated project details
  • Interface with vendors, develop bid specifications, and perform design reviews and factory acceptance testing
  • Implement modification and improvements associated to power distribution, PLC/HMI and MES
• Maintenance of Systems
  • Provide primary technical support and troubleshooting support to maintain the existing electrical and automation systems
  • Provide corrective measures to existing electrical and automation systems for maximum reliability and up time
  • Consult with multi-skilled Electrical technicians (MSE) to implement preventive maintenance
  • Strategically manage automation lifecycle
  • After hours and weekend coverage call support for assigned areas of the plant
• Incident / Breakdown / Process Upset Investigation
  • Root cause analysis and resolution using basic problem-solving systems
  • Troubleshooting and general assistance to conduct unplanned interventions to support factory uptime
• Inter-departmental Communication
  • Practice and train others on proactive solution-based maintenance fundamentals to increase performance and reduce technical stoppage
  • Support training needs through identification, participation, and facilitation
  • Assist with maintenance project scope development and execution by conveying technical experiences and opinions
  • Facilitate task or project work through effective communication
  • Solicit plant associates’ experiences and opinions for project execution and development
• Change Control and Compliance
  • Ensure guidelines and procedures are followed for software changes; develop and execute clear change definitions and testing procedures
  • Ensure process descriptions, electrical diagrams, and other documentation are updated when a change is implemented
  • Manage Automation program versions using appropriate factory revision systems
  • Support Engineering Functional Compliance (EFCA)
