Bachoco USA is seeking a Complex Accounting Manager for our Fort Smith, AR Complex.

Summary: The Complex Accounting Manager provides detailed weekly Plant Cost Estimates along with detailed operations efficiency and corresponding sales reporting. This position also prepares monthly reports comparing weekly estimate reports to actual general ledger balances for Plant Operation and Sales. Complex Accounting Manager is also responsible for all General Ledger duties associated with responsible plants. This will include any journal entry, account reconciliations, variance calculation to estimated and associated research of any variances.

Other duties include accounting support as it relates to Budget, Capital, Processing Improvements, and other operational analytics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Operate a computer with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be a fast learner in using our in-house ERP system and/or SAP for use in comparing actual expenditures with expected expenditures.
  • Assist all levels of management, plant and corporate, with the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly and quarterly operating reports, statistics, capital, and budget.
  • Prepare weekly financial presentations to upper management concerning prior week's results.
  • Ability to track volumes, statistics, and dollars. This will need to be done weekly, monthly, year-to-date, and annually.
  • Ability to analyze variances to expected outcome or operating standard.
  • Balance sheet management of assigned asset and liability accounts. Ensure monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.
  • Analyze weekly large variances and be able to discuss them with management
  • Assist in developing the product cost of new products.
  • Assist sales in the analysis of product margins of existing products.
  • Responsible for working with plant/operations management to ensure accurate reporting or all production transactions.
  • Responsible for maintaining all SOX controls and ensuring all documentation requirements are complete and accurate.
  • Provide analytical research on Agri Stats comparisons and provide operating data to said firm on a monthly basis.
  • Provide analytical data for Capital Request and ongoing Capital Project Tracking
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure correct inventory valuation. Identify LCM opportunities as needed.
  • Monitor and report correct expenses across all levels of the organization in order deliver an accurate final monthly income statement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise Complex Accounting Clerical and Salaried staff.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business related major (from four-year College or university); 5-7 years in accounting or finance with budgeting experience preferred. Technical knowledge with SAP is required.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: To perform the job successfully an individual should have knowledge of E-Mail software, Accounting systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
