Intern, Business Intelligence

Job Description

The Business Intelligence Intern is responsible for the completion of descriptive analytical reports and dashboards to drive business decisions and strategy. This position completes projects that impact all areas of Arc Best and its subsidiaries on a wide and ever-changing variety of subjects.

• Analyze user requirements and design functional specifications based on findings for BI solutions and estimate effort needed.
• Work with stakeholders to document user requirements for data, dashboards, and reports.
• Design, develop, deploy, and document enterprise business intelligence solutions that leverage common data architecture and data optimization approaches.
• Test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and improve performance on business intelligence artifacts.
• Collaborate with and support business analysts throughout the enterprise on best practice analytics strategies and techniques.
• Participate in special projects.
• Utilize offered training opportunities with assigned trainer, self‑study and offered courses.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Analytics or a related field.

• Prior experience or coursework in data modeling, requirements analysis, business analysis, data storytelling and visualization, preferred.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, SQL and Power BI, required.

• Knowledge of relational and multidimensional database designs, warehousing processes and designs, various business intelligence platforms, and software development technologies (Visual Studio preferred).

This is a temporary intern position. Work schedule will generally fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Minimal (0%-25%)

This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
