Deskside Support Installation Technician
Contract: May - September
Location: Fort Smith, AR Area
Pay: Hourly + Mileage
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Daytime hours)
Apex Systems is a world‑class technology services firm delivering innovative solutions that support our clients' digital transformation initiatives. We are currently seeking Deskside Support Installation Technicians to support a well‑known organization through a large‑scale, nationwide IT device refresh for corporate employees. This is an onsite role requiring travel to client locations throughout the surrounding area. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable driving between sites.
This is initially a contract position, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role following the successful completion of the project.
- Install and integrate laptops, printers, scanners, workstations, routers, and switches
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem resolution during installations
- Educate end users on new systems and equipment
- Clean up materials and prepare legacy devices for pickup and shipment
- Provide professional, customer‑focused support at all locations
- Training will be provided
- IT support, hardware installation, or technical training preferred but not required
- Strong trainability with the ability to quickly learn and work within new systems and processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service mindset
- Comfortable traveling locally to install sites
- Must have reliable personal transportation
- Commitment to seeing the project through its full duration
