Responsibilities
- Requisition s, receives, identifies, stocks, distributes, and collects items such as fixed asset tools, shop supplies, electrical/electronic testing equipment, and similar items.
- Operates a computer workstation and utilizes Microsoft Word, inventory control systems, precise measuring equipment, and FOD control procedures.
- Monitors area of control regularly to ensure equipment is safe, operational, and properly configured.
- Works with the Property Custodian to track equipment status, location, or change information in the equipment record.
- Tracks misplaced, overdue, back‑ordered, and special items, and reschedules calibration or maintenance servicing dates in a timely manner.
- Performs a variety of tool control duties to ensure availability for the distribution of tooling and consumable supplies.
- Handles HAZMAT storage, issue, and related duties while maintaining accountability according to applicable local policy or government regulations.
- Maintains checklists, files, and logs pertaining to the control of tooling for manufacturing of parts in and out of the crib.
- Sets up lists, logs, and necessary paperwork for shift attendants.
- Performs tool crib attendant duties as needed and services employees at the counter for the distribution and return of tools at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Provides, stocks, and orders consumable supplies.
- Performs related or similar duties as directed.
- Contributes to overall equipment effectiveness by performing operator‑required upkeep.
- Follows all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
- Segregates waste material and follows good housekeeping practices.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Minimum 2 years of tool room experience.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with tool maintenance and inspections.
- Documented experience in segregating, routing, and controlling the flow of new, used, damaged, or surplus tools.
- Experience in receiving, warehousing, and shipping within an industrial environment.
- Basic training in tool control and work order release methods.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling.
- Basic knowledge of store keeping methods and inventory procedures.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required by business needs.
- Experience with tool crib attendant duties.
- Experience with material handling.
- Experience with inventory control.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Basic Excel knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- 2+ years of experience with tool control management.
- Experience with tool life cycles.
- Organizational skills for large database systems.
- Experience with property management.
- Ability to properly identify, store, track, maintain, and issue tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
Clearance level:
Secret.
