2nd Shift: Slaughter Plant

Hours:
2:30 p.m. – EOS
Pay Rate: $16.75 per hour

Sorts out any diseased birds or birds that have a defect by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Be able to identify animal diseases and defects as regulated by the Poultry Product Inspection Act.
- Makes determination whether to condemn the bird or send it to be salvaged.
- Condemns any cadavers or badly bruised birds.
- Marks parts to be trimmed in Evisceration.
- Trims bad parts off birds.
- Puts information into the computer per lot.
- Safety sensitive position.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to count.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
