Job SummaryA Flex Technician at Trane Technologies supports multiple production, service, or assembly operations by providing adaptable technical skills across different work areas. This role is designed to increase operational flexibility, address labor bottlenecks, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across the facility. Flex Technicians are cross‑trained in multiple processes and deployed where needed, often rotating between departments. Their versatility enables Trane Technologies to meet customer demand, improve workflow efficiency, and maintain world‑class climate innovation.
Responsibilities- Support daily operations in multiple production or service areas based on staffing or workload needs
- Maintain safety compliance by following all Trane Technologies policies and procedures
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Conduct root‑cause identification for basic equipment or process issues
- Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and supervisors to improve workflow and quality
- Assist in training and onboarding new technicians as needed
- Complete required documentation accurately (quality checks, logs, material tracking, etc.)
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, including 5S, Kaizen, and Lean efforts
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and teamwork while rotating across departments
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing, HVAC assembly, or technician‑level work is a plus
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly across various tasks and processes
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or HVAC knowledge (depending on facility needs)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to lift and move materials as required by the operation
- Comfortable with fast‑paced, dynamic work environments
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
