The salary range for this role, based in Fort Smith, is $78,300.00 to $97,900.00. Base salaries are determined during the interview process by assessing a candidate s experience, skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
PositionSummary
We are looking for a talented manufacturing engineer to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes. The manufacturing engineer s responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new processes and methods, and ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards. To be successful, you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise, with the ability to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement
- Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements
- Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow
- Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products
- Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems
- Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations
- Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports
- Analyzing production data to provide recommendations to maintenance & production teams on focus areas
- Completing heat map exercises and Pareto production issues to align with site priorities
- Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing
- Establishing safety procedures for individuals working with dangerous chemicals
- Conducting tests and monitoring equipment process performance throughout production
- Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes
- Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Estimating production costs
Skills & Qualifications
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs and identifying effective solutions
- Ingenuity in applying industrial engineering concepts to address production problems
- Interpersonal skills for developing positive working relationships with production staff
- Math skills for applying advanced topics including troubleshooting, calculus, analysis and design
- Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering required
- 4-5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing operations, processes, and machinery
- Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Visio and Project)
- High level of technical expertise
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification strongly preferred
