Position Overview

Material Handler – Nights (12 Hour Shifts)

Fort Smith, AR.

Mars Petcare is seeking a Material Handler to join our pet food manufacturing plant in Fort Smith, AR. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs and pay close attention to detail to deliver precise nutrition and support pets' health.

• Record incoming and outgoing loads and move pallets to designated locations.
• Scan pallets as they are loaded onto or off the trailer.
• Enter all transactions in JDA.
• Load and unload trailers proficiently.
• Reconcile inventory using the JDA system.
• Manage JDA & SAP programs related to materials management.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies within inventory management systems.
• Understand and adhere to site security policies.
• Assist the Yard Dog Operator when needed.
• Apply warehousing principles.
• Read a schedule and confirm that label and product SKU match.
• Move product from location to location using the JDA system.
• Inspect the exterior of a trailer before performing dock locking steps to ensure safety for loading and unloading.
• Use a pallet wrapper safely and operate it appropriately.
• Manage aged supplier-owned inventory and transact as needed.
• Ensure quality and food safety for all associates on site.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Knowledge of manufacturing inventory systems.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Knowledge of financial compliance and documentation.
• Knowledge of supply chain management.
• Knowledge of SAP, JDA, RF Scan Gun and portable printers.
• Working knowledge of FIFO/FEFO procedures.
• Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
