Fort Smith Plant – started operations in 1985. The Fort Smith team works 24/7 creating wet formed fiberglass mat used in further manufacturing processes such as shingles. Our new facility is nearing completion, expanding the team, and a new production line is just starting construction.

Shifts and ScheduleFort Smith crews work 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑week rotation with a 3‑day weekend every other week.
Week 1: 36 hours – Monday, Thursday, Friday.
Week 2: 48 hours – Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday. Additionally, crews rotate between day and night shifts every 28 days, allowing teams to balance personal activities on off days.
Team members perform any duty within their level on a rotation basis, including general production support duties directed by a supervisor. Support production by doffing, inspecting, weighing, labeling, and packing mat production. Provide material handling to support the production line. Salvage products from out‑of‑spec materials and ensure external quality of salvaged products. Perform general housekeeping and participate in downtime cleaning activities.
Cross‑train in higher levels as required.
- Ensure personal safety, work in a safe manner, and support team members working safely.
- Ensure all customer expectations are met in relation to role.
- Maintain reliable and predictable processes.

- Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) processes in plant.

- Eye and hearing protection are utilized in required areas.
- Exposure to heights, year‑round temperatures ranging from fifty to one hundred and ten degrees, and moisture.
- Air‑conditioned control rooms are available for operators.
- Exposure to materials associated with fiberglass products such as binder and glass fibers.
- Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. independently, and heavier weights with assistance.
- Climb stairs, steps, and ladders, and work at heights on equipment, platforms, and walkways.
- Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, leaning, and reaching at both ground level and overhead.
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
- Ability to work a rotational 12‑hour schedule; every 28 days rotate between day/night shifts.
- Operate computers & computerized equipment for quality, safety, and compliance testing and training.
- Communicate with co‑workers face to face, by telephone, and electronically.
- Give and understand instructions and hold conversations in a manufacturing environment as well as an office or classroom setting.
- Possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
