Owens Corning, a global company with roots in Fort Smith, Arkansas, is looking for a skilled maintenance planner/lead to join our local team.
Schedule- Week 1 – 36 hours:
Monday, Thursday, Friday - Week 2 – 48 hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Crews rotate between day and night shift every 28 days and work 24/7 to produce wet‑formed or coated fiberglass mats for shingles and other building materials.
Job SummaryThe Shift Leader embodies the 100% Leader concept, balancing challenge with connection to surpass safety, quality, productivity, and financial expectations. Responsibilities include leading Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), ensuring safety and training, coordinating production, and acting as a key change agent for continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities- Build Safety Culture:
Drive safety performance, facilitate training, maintain safe work areas, and correct risks promptly. - Lead and Develop Talent:
Engage teams, drive continuous improvement, provide training, and enforce plant policies. - Manage Production:
Oversee staffing, address issues autonomously, eliminate top losses, and use manufacturing systems for improvement. - Implement TPM:
Provide training, lead problem‑solving tools, mentor teams, and conduct 5S and other CI activities. - Lead AM Processes:
Lead AM functions, facilitate events, and coach teams for focused improvement.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of similar experience.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship; no visa sponsorship is available.
- Proven track record of driving results through employee engagement and problem‑solving.
- Team‑building and development experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or continuous improvement experience.
- Proficiency with computer programs and Microsoft Office.
- Autonomous leadership, People development, Technical acumen, Bias for action.

Physical Requirements
- PPE use, exposure to temp and noise, hand/eye coordination, movement and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Climb stairs and ladders, work extended hours, operate computers and equipment.
- Communicate face to face, by phone, and electronically.
- Manual dexterity for equipment operation and standard office tasks.
- Adequate vision and depth perception.
