Production Manager
Production Manager / Operations Manager
This role is responsible for the overall management and performance of an assigned production area within a manufacturing environment. The position oversees safety, production, quality, staffing, employee relations, compliance, and operational efficiency while ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operations of the assigned production area.
- Ensure safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products.
- Supervise production supervisors and production teams.
- Monitor and improve:
- Production yields and line speeds
- Product quality
- Safety and ergonomics programs
- Attendance and payroll records
- Staffing levels, turnover, and absenteeism
- Promote continuous improvement and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives.
- Analyze operational issues and provide recommendations to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, federal, state, and company regulations.
- Manage employee performance, coaching, discipline, and development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education beyond high school (technical training, vocational school, college coursework, or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of manufacturing/production management experience.
- Knowledge of:
- Production processes and techniques
- Product yields and quality standards
- USDA and OSHA regulations
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food processing or protein processing management experience.
- Experience leading supervisors and large production teams.
- Strong background in safety, quality, and operational performance management.
Ideal Candidate Profile A hands-on production leader with experience managing high-volume manufacturing operations, driving safety and quality performance, leading supervisors, and ensuring regulatory compliance while meeting production targets.
