2nd Shift Forklift Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtains copy of production schedule and transports material to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage/production areas.
• Stacking goods in the correct areas, following inventory control instructions.
• Checking loads are secure.
• Stacking empty pallets.
• Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Dumping material into machine hoppers.
• Dumping trash into compactor.
• Completing all necessary paperwork with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping practices in the production area.
• Practicing proper safety techniques.
• Completing general area maintenance duties on equipment as assigned, possibly with help from the maintenance department.
• Following all procedures and guidelines.
• Performing other duties as assigned and/or requested.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Consistently punctual and present at work.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner; strives to increase productivity.
• Observes all safety procedures and policies; reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
