Operator-Nights

Mars Petcare is looking for an Operator 1 to join our pet food manufacturing plant in Fort Smith, AR. You will work the night shift from 11 pm to 7:30 am.

• Maintain safety standards by using LOTO and confined-space entry procedures in the primary production area.
• Load production materials into equipment, meeting quality and safety standards.
• Assist product changeovers on primary equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the team to prevent downtime and quality issues.
• Operate equipment during breaks and lunches as needed.
• Comply with quality and food-safety practices, GMPs, and regulatory standards.
• Document quality attributes and production data for shift reports on computer or iPad.
• Support overall quality and food-safety responsibility for all site associates.
• Lift and handle 150‑200 40-pound bags of ingredients per day.

• Good knowledge of production processes, GMPs, and food-safety standards.
• General understanding of equipment start-up, operation, shut-down, and cleaning.
• Ability to assist and troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist with quality checks and document results in a database system using a computer or iPad.
• Food-manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with Nexus and MSDS database.
• Knowledge of Near-Miss reporting.
• Familiar with Adams Bradley systems or other display systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to respond quickly and remain alert for long periods on hard surfaces.
• Computer/iPad literate with ability to enter, maintain, and retrieve data.
