Shift: Slaughter Plant Dept. 103 - Knife/Scissor Sharpner Shift
Hours:
2:30 pm - EOS Pay Rate: $16.25 per hour Bachoco OK Foods offers competitive wages and benefits to include but not limited to: $1/hour weekly attendance incentive. $1/hour night shift premium. Summary Sets up and operates grinding machines to shape and sharpen knives, saw blades and scissors according to specifications by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Starts machine and observes grinding operation to verify conformance to specifications. Hones cutting edge of ground knives. Selects and installs grinding wheels on machine. Manipulates blade across grinding wheel by hand.
Sharpens or shapes knives, scissors and saw blades. Sets up knives and scissors for production. Sanitizes production floor during production break. Collects all scissors and knives at end of shift. This is a safety sensitive position. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25-40 POUNDS. This is a safety sensitive position. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
