G -Endoscopy Tech

Maintains professional accountability and technical support for provision of patient care for the endoscopy patients experience. As directed, may be preparing the endoscopy field, obtain needed equipment uphold patient safety standards and assist the physician and registered nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and may assist with special procedures as noted on the career ladder program.

These duties may range from limited to overly complex. All duties are performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Proof of education may be requested.
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Experience:
  • Can independently participate in low to moderate acuity cases and high-level disinfection. Contribute to all aspects of day‑to‑day operations of the Endoscopy Suite. May have no experience but will work in a 24‑hour location that performs complex cases or some experience and be working in an outpatient only facility.
  • Completes both basic competencies:
    Endoscopy Tech in Scope Room and Endoscopy Tech in Procedure.
• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, and be able to perform job‑related functions safely and successfully, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
