We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at UAMS Fort Smith Family Medical Center. This position plays a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a select group of patients. This role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct patient care within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, UAMS policies, procedures, and standards.
- Accountable for adhering to UAMS care guidelines.
- Observe patients, charting, and reporting changes in patients' conditions.
- Provide basic care and treatment of patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and start intravenous fluids.
- Measure and record the patient's vital signs.
- Assist patients in standing, walking, bathing, dressing, and moving in bed.
- Supervise nurses' aides and assistants.
- Answer the patient's call and determine how to assist them.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
- Clean rooms and make beds.
- Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments.
- Record food and fluid intake and output.

- Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
