Job Summary

The Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care during night shifts in a hospital setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The nurse must maintain strong communication skills and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide case management and coordinate care for patients.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols.
Required Skills & Certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
  • Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driver's license, car insurance, and reliable automobile for field work if applicable.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing in a hospital setting.
  • Prior experience working night shifts.
Special Considerations
  • Night shift hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Performance expectations are strictly monitored; failure to meet standards may result in immediate contract termination.
  • Work environment includes low, mid, and high acuity patients on a Medical/Surgical unit.
Scheduling
  • 12-hour night shifts, typically from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Shift assignments and schedules determined by facility needs and staffing requirements.
