The new Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit is an 18‑bed unit focused on teaching eager and upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful.

We are looking to build a team of highly engaged nurses who have a passion for education, patient care, and best practices. This unit will care for medical telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students who will take total care of the four patients.

A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support/oversight of the students. By joining the Dedicated Education Unit at Mercy, you will have a direct impact on the future of nursing, while progressing your leadership skillset for your future in nursing.

10,000 Sign On Bonus for full‑time RNs with at least 1 year of experience. NO CONTRACT.

• Act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students assigned to four telemetry patients.
• Provide clinical rotation support and oversight of the students.
• Deliver patient care and education to students on day shift only.
• Maintain a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio within the 18‑bed dedicated education unit.

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate’s Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Must have an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within the probationary period.
• Must have ACLS and BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire.
