Mercy is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist (RN) to support the onboarding, education, competency validation, and ongoing professional development of nursing and clinical co‑workers. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and driving excellence in patient care through evidence‑based practice and innovative learning strategies.

The Clinical Education Specialist serves as a key resource for nursing staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams by developing and delivering educational programs that promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and a positive patient experience. This position supports orientation programs, competency validation, performance improvement initiatives, and continuing education for both licensed and unlicensed healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 3 years of critical care nursing experience
• Associate degree in Nursing with:
  • 10 years of hospital nursing experience, OR
  • 5 years of hospital nursing experience and active enrollment in an RN-to-BSN program
  • At least 3 years of critical care nursing experience is a must.
• Current applicable state nursing license.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and the ability to positively influence patient care delivery.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of patient care equipment and clinical technology.

• Specialty certification or active pursuit of certification related to area of responsibility.
• Two years of teaching or educational experience.
• Additional life support certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC, and/or ENPC.
