What You Should Know About the Patient Coordinator:
- Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m. Call required. Required to work 2- 12 hour shifts a pay period unless additional coverage is needed based on unit staffing. - This position is based within Jefferson Regional Nursing Departments. Refer back to posting on location.
Under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing, the Patient Coordinator ensures the delivery of quality patient care by assuring adequate staffing in addition to appropriate skills and abilities to meet patient problems. This includes delegating duties appropriately and directing staff in the delivery of care, assuring the appropriate utilization of resources. Assists the Manager in financial control of department;
collaborates and maintains open communication with medical staff, administration, unit personnel, patients and patient families; assures regulations and standards are met and demonstrates support of the Jefferson Regional mission.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school program required.
- Technical or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position.*
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting. Minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience preferred.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, patients, families, and faculty
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
- Basic flexibility to adapt to changes with the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Provides compassionate support to patients and families, ensuring positive environment in the hospital
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in electronic documentation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills preferred
