Lead Excellence in Materials Testing & Team Performance

Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Quality Control Laboratory Manager to lead our Quality Control program across hot mix asphalt, ready‑mix concrete, and aggregate production. This pivotal role demands a collaborative leader, passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Champion Safety:
    Foster a culture of safety, ensuring strict adherence to all company Safety Policies for both employees and visitors.
  • Drive Quality & Integrity:
    Maintain uncompromising standards in quality control testing, upholding the integrity of our products and processes.
  • Lead & Develop Teams:
    Oversee daily operations of the Quality Control Department, including scheduling, supervising, training, and mentoring Quality Control Technicians. Inspire your team to deliver their best.
  • Deliver Results:
    Provide clear, timely communication of test results and actionable technical guidance to support product reliability and performance.
  • Build Partnerships:
    Serve as the primary point of contact with external testing agencies—state DOTs, local municipalities, and independent laboratories—ensuring seamless collaboration and compliance.
  • Manage Compliance:
    Liaise with specifying agencies for Qualified Product List (QPL) status and maintain laboratory approval with DOTs.
  • Organize for Success:
    Ensure laboratory and mobile equipment are clean, organized, and well‑maintained for optimal operations.
  • Anticipate Needs:
    Review job proposals to proactively address customer requirements and expectations.
  • Advance Materials Design:
    Support the preparation and submission of asphalt mix designs, concrete mix designs, and aggregate submittals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze for Excellence:
    Evaluate statistical data and product specifications to ensure consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement in our products.
  • Resolve & Improve:
    Investigate customer complaints, collaborate on resolutions, and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction and performance.
  • Maintain Precision:
    Keep meticulous records of test results, reports, and related documentation.
  • Ensure Readiness:
    Guarantee required asphalt mix designs are updated and available for production needs.
  • Optimize Production:
    Determine cold‑feed aggregate percentages to maintain desired gradations and quality standards.
  • Empower Teams:
    Effectively delegate responsibilities, hold team members accountable, and encourage professional growth.
  • Promote Engagement:
    Build an inclusive, collaborative environment that values diversity and fosters continuous improvement.
  • Adapt & Contribute:
