ADKX Cafe Assistant

The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake is one of upstate New York’s major cultural institutions and is nestled right in the heart of the Adirondacks. Offering four seasons of outdoor recreation, surrounded by serene landscape, and cozy small towns, the ADKX offers something for everyone who enjoys the serenity of the Adirondack Park. The ADKX is a seasonal museum open from Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous People’s Day.

We are currently looking for upbeat and energetic individuals to apply for our seasonal Café Assistant Positions which will start in May of 2026. Café Assistants play a vital role at the ADKX by creating a memorable dining experience for our visitors. We offer made to order sandwiches and coffee beverages, soups, salads, and grab and go items as well. Café Assistants help prepare all of the food selections and serve them to our visitors in a friendly and courteous manner.

Hours are typically 8am – 4:30pm with full-time and part-time positions available. Weekend work may be required. The starting rate of pay is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.

The ADKX boasts a number of perks for our staff members. We offer discounts at our Museum Store and Café, a complimentary family membership to staff while employed, passes for friends and family, and free or discounted admission to dozens of area attractions and museums. Onsite seasonal housing is available for a small fee to those who need it.

• Prepare all food (sandwiches, salads, specials, sides, etc.) for the day as requested.
• Maintain and stock beverage and snack stations.
• Run register with a courteous and pleasant manner.
• Light cleaning of seating areas, serving line, and kitchen.
• Check in and put away deliveries as required.

• Be able to handle money, make correct change, and operate a credit card machine.
