Line Cook​/Cashier Part Time

Position Description

Summary:

As a Line Cook/Sales Associate Cashier, you are to provide assistance to customers and handle various duties such as operating the POS/cash register, greeting customers, helping customers locate products, doing paperwork, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The position is also responsible for preparation and cooking of food.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Provide an enthusiastic greeting to all customers upon their entering the store, or on the phone.
• Go out of your way to make customers feel important and valued. Give 100% attention to customers.
• Move quickly to provide fast service.
• Preparation of food for cooking, i.e., washing, peeling, chopping
• Cooking and preparing menu items
• Setting up food in a presentable fashion
• Maintaining food safety, i.e., sanitized kitchen, orderly environment, proper storage of food
• Monitor and maintain proper inventory of food items
• Responsible for the checkout procedures and proper cash handling.
• Responsible for selling the company’s promotions and offers.
• Be knowledgeable of all store procedures and processes.
• Responsible for general cleaning duties, i.e., tidying the premises, sweeping and mopping the floor, emptying the trash can, cleaning restrooms and performing other cleaning duties.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with product dating, and in particular checking for out-of-date merchandise daily, and tagging specific merchandise with out-of-date codes, as well as items that need to be discarded.
• While overtime is discouraged, this position may occasionally require overtime, which must be approved in advance by your supervisor.
• Be at work and on time for scheduled shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different personnel from hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives
• Ability to work a regular schedule (including weekends & holidays) with ability to be flexible when circumstances require schedule adaptations

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds
• Ability to perform tasks with little or no supervision

Basic Qualifications
:

• High School Education, GED or equivalent education and work experience
• 6 months customer service, retail experience, and/or other related fields required
• Minimum of one year of food services experience in food purchasing, inventory and preparation is required
• Cash handling experience is required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Serv Safe certification is required
• Willing to obtain certifications required by state regarding food service, alcohol and tobacco sales
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be willing to work varied shifts
