Position Title: Electrician

FLSA: Non Exempt

Reports To: Supervisor of Maintenance

Beginning: July/August 2026

Terms of Employment: A full contract for this position is 240 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 – 5 years experience preferred.
• Master or Journeyman license preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Commercial / light industrial preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders of various heights.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics to determine the layout and wiring configurations for electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues such as short circuits, faulty wiring, and malfunctioning equipment. This requires knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to use testing equipment effectively.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure that electrical systems are functioning properly and comply with safety regulations.
• Electricians work with high‑voltage electrical systems, so they must follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes using personal protective equipment, securing work areas, and implementing proper grounding techniques.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical apparatus.
• Examine and identify motor problems and have the ability to tear down, clean up, lubricate, reassemble and replace bearings, capacitors, starting switches, governors and brushes.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain equipment.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
• Must be able to work independently, sometimes with minimal supervision.
• Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and district administration.
• Must be willing to work overtime or after hours whenever needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
