Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Social Worker
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director / Assistant Director of Student Services
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 d ays and benefits will be specified in the employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on the actual start date.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board.
- Bilingual preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work under the supervision of the Executive Director and Assistant Director of Student Services.
- Support children’s social and emotional well being.
- Advocate for services for all children.
- Develop individual family service plans.
- Conduct home visits as deemed appropriate.
- Refer children and families to community agencies.
- Obtain information from the child’s parents/guardian.
- Work with children on an individual and group basis.
- Work in cooperation with all school staff.
- Assist school personnel with attendance laws and district policies.
- Maintain a positive relationship between the home and school.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- File FINS petitions in juvenile court as needed.
- Attend and participate in all meetings and trainings as required.
- File all reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.li>
- Provide appropriate training for teachers and staff.
- Function as a liaison between the school and the juvenile court system.
- Prepare accurate records and documentation that may be required by the juvenile court.
- Mobilize family, school and community resources to support the academic, social and emotional success of students.
- Work with students and parents/guardians to encourage regular school attendance.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others
- Maintains emotional control under stress
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
