Job Title: Dispatcher
Location: Fort Smith, AR (Live Haul)
Pay Rate: $18.50
Summary: This position will oversee day‑to‑day operations within the ITT Transportation department. Communicates with customers and drivers to provide timely services. Additional duties will include limited data entry and maintaining logs and other records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for dispatching drivers and equipment.
- Utilizes equipment and drivers efficiently.
- Rotates equipment to service providers for maintenance.
- Provides services to our customers (plants) and maintains good working relationships.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of trailer movements.
- Other duties as required by supervision.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsEducation and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Dispatch experience preferred.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer
Skills:
Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of or the ability to learn e‑mail software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
