About the Role

As a Tanker Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials in liquid bulk tankers, including loading, transporting, and unloading while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Drivers can expect regional routes with weekly home time and occasional overnight routes.

Responsibilities
  • Safely drive and operate trucks in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Follow all company and government‑mandated safety regulations and policies.
  • Complete all pre‑ and post‑trip inspections in accordance with USDOT regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize electronic logging devices (ELD) to maintain hours of service logs in accordance with USDOT regulations.
  • Wear required PPE including masks, gloves, chemical suits, boot coverings, eye, ear, and face protection.
  • Follow SOP for filling and discharging materials.
  • Couple or uncouple trailers by adjusting trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth‑wheel locks; crank trailer landing gear up or down to secure vehicles.
  • Check all load‑related documentation for completeness and accuracy, read BOLs to determine assignment details, and collect delivery instructions.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or minor repairs.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs or tire chains.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to put customers first.
  • Capability to maneuver vehicles and equipment in confined environments.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Key Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Class A CDL (unrestricted) required.
  • Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required.
  • At least 24 months verifiable commercial vehicle operating experience within the last 36 months on similar equipment (5‑axle articulated trailer) used on a public highway in interstate and/or intrastate commerce.
  • No more than three (3) moving violations in the last 36 months.
  • No more than one (1) “Serious” violation in the last 36 months.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, demonstrate driving techniques, and sit for extended periods.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to pass and maintain a USDOT physical.
