Become a Video Journalist with CBC/Radio-Canada in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. This dynamic on-site role allows you to deliver compelling news for radio, television, and digital audiences.
In this permanent, full-time position, you’ll research, package, and present news stories while working independently under the direction of assignment producers based in Yellowknife. Your creativity, coupled with strong storytelling skills, will engage diverse audiences across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research, gather and present news stories creatively
• Build and maintain relationships with key news sources
• Generate unique story ideas relevant to the community
• Produce video treatments for various media formats
• Maintain an engaging on-air presence during broadcasts
Requirements:
• Diploma or equivalent experience in journalism
• Minimum two years of journalism experience
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Indigenous language skills are a significant asset
