Laundry - Laundry Attendant

Responsibilities

• Sort all soiled linen, weigh and load into appropriate carts.
• Load and unload washers and dryers, operate machines and record poundage amounts, and amount washed and dried.
• Fold towels either by hand or towel folder, iron table linens, iron and fold sheets, hand‑fold pillow cases, blankets, bed pads, draw sheets, herbal wraps etc.
• Sort and separate damaged or stained linen for repair or use as rags.
• Clean lint traps from dryers daily; check and clean drains as necessary.
• Maintain clean laundry area, sweep and mop floor, clean washers and dryers, empty trash, organize carts, clean back sorting area and sweep porch on loading dock.
• Report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
• Perform other job‑related duties as directed.

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
• Must be alert and safety conscious at all times.
• Move, lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a hot/humid environment.
