Professionally trained technologist familiar with various ultrasound modalities for the completion of invasive and non‑invasive examinations. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.

• Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures and prep and monitors patients during procedures.
• Is proficient in all aspects of ordered US procedures. This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Effectively utilizes all necessary computer systems in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of all equipment, complying with house‑wide BSI precautions and following recommendations for cleaning transducers.
• Follows the safety steps required to perform duties and complies with medical, state, and federal safety standards, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
• Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO, or other agencies, ensuring proper charging of procedures, coding, and modifiers.
• Reviews images for high quality and assists in performing QC, QA, QI, or ACR as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of either an ARDMS or ARRT approved program.
• In the process of being certified by the ARDS or ARRT in the specific specialty area.
• Completes appropriate ARDMS or ARRT certification in the specialty area within 12 months of ultrasound program completion.
• Failure to achieve certification within 12 months may result in end of employment or alternative job placement.
• CPR certified.
• For associates that drive company vehicles:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be insurable by the hospital’s insurance carrier.

• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, ultrasound equipment, QC and HIS.
• Familiar with all B‑mode, real‑time, and color‑flow applications.

• Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.
