Job SummarySt. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Outpatient Wound Care Clinic in the Ft. Thomas Outpatient Wound Care Department. The RN OP Wound Care/HBO is responsible for providing evidence‑based clinical care and may also act as Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (HRN) when required.
Job DescriptionThe RN on the Outpatient Wound Care Clinic assumes an intake/wrap‑up role, with potential to advance to case manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing assessment and coordination of wound care for patients.
- Delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed team members.
- Acting as attendant and control operator of the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under the direction of the HBO physician.
- Using the nursing process to deliver evidence‑based care.
- Demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy to all patients, families, and employees.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid Compact (multi‑state) license if eligible; licensed to practice in the state of employment.
- Meeting state licensure contact hour requirements.
- Completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training Course if acting as HRN.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable in basic wound care principles and practices.
Experience:
- Completion of preceptorship and orientation to the health system and clinical area.
- Critical thinking and problem solving in clinical situations.
- One year current clinical nursing experience.
