Essential Functions
- Assists journeyman or independently inspects, repairs, and services electrical or plumbing fixtures and other equipment
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance on equipment, buildings and other structures
- Repairs, replaces or rebuilds water pipelines or drains
- Repairs or rebuilds locks to ensure security of city property
- Operates a variety of machinery such as backhoes, drill presses, or jackhammers
- Cleans and services tanks to ensure that pumps and equipment are kept in proper working condition
- Performs related work
- Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
- Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds in a team setting
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Must have two years of maintenance work experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
