Job SummaryThe Assistant Professor of Psychology position is responsible for teaching courses in the discipline area of Psychology.
Major Duties- Teaches a typical load of 12 semester hours of undergraduate courses each semester in Psychology in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
- Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement.
- Provides advisement and academic support to students.
- Maintains class‑related records and assesses student progress.
- Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co‑curricular activities.
- Participates in departmental, college, and university‑required activities.
- Requires a master’s degree, including 18 hours in Psychology or a related field.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in traditional classroom settings and/or an established interest in scholarship to seek publications in refereed journals and other scholarly outlets.
- Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
- Three or more years of teaching experience.
- Normal office environment within a university setting, providing both in‑person and online instruction. Utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and email, along with technology‑based learning materials and learning management systems.
- The physical requirements of the job will consist of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time while instructing and/or engaging in meetings.
