Overview
FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Mathematics. Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution serving over 2,800 students, including graduate students. Job Summary
This announcement is to assist in building a pool of candidates for upcoming adjunct (part-time) opportunities within the Mathematics Program in the Department of Natural and Computational Sciences. We are recruiting adjunct faculty to teach courses in College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I, Elementary Statistics, Physics I, Physics II, Introduction to Linear Algebra, and any additional courses as needed by the Program.
Courses will be offered in person, hybrid, and/or online modalities.
- Teach undergraduate-level Mathematics and related courses in a face-to-face, online, or hybrid format.
- Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair and maintain University policies.
- Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications (as applicable):
Master s Degree in Mathematics or related discipline; ability to successfully pass a background check; excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills and teamwork; 2-3 years of experience at the university level.
- Prior experience in teaching College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I, Elementary Statistics, Physics I, Physics II, and/or Introduction to Linear Algebra.
