Lecturer of Political Science Reports to Chairman of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences Department The  Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences Division/College College of Arts and Sciences

Job Summary Teach courses in the discipline area of Political Science. Provide academic support to students, maintain class-related records, and assess student coursework. Duties and Responsibilities Teaches a typical load of 15 semester-hours of undergraduate courses each semester in Political Science in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Provides academic support to students as Maintains class-related records and assesses student Participates in departmental, college, and university-required activities. Qualifications Requires a master's degree, including 18 hours in Political Science or a related field.

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in traditional classroom settings and/or A commitment to student engagement and academic Ability to communicate effectively and participate in departmental and university activities.

Preferred Education:

Earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution.

Years of experience: 3 or more years of teaching experience

Skills:

Interactively engaging students to develop enhanced critical thinking Abilities:
Communication at all levels. Normal office environment within a university setting, providing both in-person and online instruction. Utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and email, along with technology-based learning materials and learning management systems. The physical requirements of the job will consist of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time while instructing and/or engaging in meetings.
