JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the output of the assigned work group, maintaining the highest quality standards as well as controlling labor efficiencies and costs in acquiring this endeavor. This person must be highly motivated and be able to transfer this motivation to the workforce. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish clear objectives/goals in line to meet established departmental and company objectives.
  • Promote and provide a safe, healthy work environment.
  • Must be able to train and develop employees.
  • Must be supportive of management decisions and company policy.
  • Provide reports as relating to objectives and results using Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).
  • Must maintain 5 S techniques and housekeeping objectives within the assigned work area.
  • Conduct lean activities such as Kaizen events to drive process improvement and cost reductions driven by a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Must be able to lead, motivate and promote good employee relations.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to evaluate employee performance and offer constructive criticisms or praise in a positive manner.
  • Must be able to formulate and maintain departmental budgets.
  • Must be able to lead or act as a positive change agent in the workplace.

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

FOR SUCCESS

  • Ensures proper tools & equipment are available and in working order
  • Ensures safety standards are in place and enforced
  • Understanding of labor and machine capacity and loading to successfully plan and execute production schedule
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and capability to apply principles
  • Must have established oral and written communication skills
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing facility, working in production or one of the followings:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates degree plus 3 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • HS Diploma or GED plus 3 years production supervisor or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
