Continuous Improvement Specialist

Qualify for a role focused on driving continuous improvement activities, applying Lean and quality principles, and implementing rapid improvements across plant operations.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The primary purpose of this role is to drive continuous improvement activities. The specialist will manage projects, influence cross‑functional teams, and collaborate closely with plant management, employees, engineering, quality teams, and customers to ensure quality, on‑time delivery, and reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by improving processes and applying Lean tools like Daily Management, Standard Work, and Problem Solving.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and responses to customer quality issues.
  • Take action to prevent product, process, and system quality issues.
  • Track and report performance metrics such as KPIs, OEE, and other data.
  • Support and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Create and apply consistent processes across teams with Team Leaders.
  • Work with leadership across all levels to implement Lean strategies.
  • Lead cross‑functional improvement projects.
  • Train and coach employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Education (Minimum)

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar.
  • 2–4 years of experience working in a lean, ISO and/or quality manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a manufacturing organization.
  • Proficiency with Standard Work and Systems Documentation and Management.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience with Visual Management.
  • Knowledge of OEE and TEEP.
  • Experience with Total Production Maintenance.
COMPETENCIES
  • Analytical skills and understanding of problem‑solving techniques/tools.
  • Data‑driven, disciplined, objective and detail oriented.
