The Construction Superintendent will oversee construction projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, adherence to schedules, and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities include job site inspections, performing minor punch‑list tasks, running materials, and managing small handyman‑type scopes. This role is pivotal in maintaining project efficiency and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
- Identify and address any issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Perform minor punch‑list tasks to ensure project completion meets quality standards and address any remaining issues before handover.
- Coordinate and run materials to job sites as needed, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
- Manage inventory levels and report any shortages or excesses.
- Ensure all work performed meets company standards and client expectations; conduct final inspections and sign‑offs on completed work.
- Execute small handyman‑type tasks and repairs as required on various projects; provide flexible, on‑the‑spot solutions to minor issues.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth project execution; communicate effectively with the Construction Manager regarding project status, issues, and resolutions.
- Enforce safety protocols on all job sites to ensure a safe working environment; conduct safety meetings and training sessions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of job site activities, inspections, and any issues encountered; prepare and submit daily/weekly reports to the Construction Manager.
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods.
