POSITION OVERVIEW
JOB SUMMARY:

The Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering at the University of West Florida (UWF) ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) in Pensacola, Florida, invites applicants for a full-time, nontenure-track positions (Position #129990) at the Lecturer level, beginning August 2027. The University of West Florida has launched a new Civil Engineering degree program in fall 2025, and this position will support the new Civil Engineering program.

The successful candidates will teach courses mainly in civil engineering at the undergraduate level, advise students, mentor student projects, and perform service activities that contribute to the success of the department and the mission of the university. The positions will be located at our UWF Emerald Coast campus at Fort Walton Beach area. However, this position may need to travel and to teach at the main Pensacola campus as necessary.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Holds at least the master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee engages in teaching, service, and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment with strong commitment to teaching and service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Higher Degrees beyond Master’s Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment
