Immediate hire upon Contract Award
- Play piano or organ for every Sunday Mass and Catholic Holy Days of Obligation and Special Masses as directed by the Catholic Chaplain
- Ensure all worship music and media used comply with copyright, reproduction, and license agreements
- Attend one rehearsal each week prior to Sunday Mass and Catholic Holy Days of Obligation and Special Masses
- Play piano for Special Masses on the following days:
Confirmation, All Saint’s Day, Thanksgiving Day Vigil, Advent Penance, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Christmas Vigil Children’s Mass, Midnight Mass, Christmas Day Mass, New Year’s Vigil, New Year’s Day Service, Ash Wednesday, Lent Penance, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday Vigil, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Memorials - Attend liturgy and music planning meetings and collaborate with other Mass choir directors and musicians to improve music quality
- Coordinate all support requirements for the program with the Catholic Chaplain; submit requirements promptly to avoid logistical delays or program cancellations
- Assist in completing Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) and Appropriated Funds (APF) documents with the Community Coordinator, ensuring timely submission
- Care for chapel musical instruments and equipment during the contract; notify Chaplain of needed maintenance or repairs
- Receive training to become proficient with chapel sound board/systems within 30 days of start date
- Set up and take down all necessary items for rehearsals and worship services; secure areas after use
- Communicate with chaplains, priests, worship leaders, and other musicians to coordinate service of worship, planning selections at least 7 days before each service
- Perform an average of 206 units per year (unit = one rehearsal or one service)
- Minimum of one year experience playing an instrument in a Catholic worship team
- Ability to sight‑read music
- Experience accompanying and directing musical selections
- Proficient piano playing for Sunday Catholic Mass, including rehearsals and preparation of instrument and equipment requirements
