Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The position offers Monday‑Friday hours (6:00am–3:30pm) on a 9/80 schedule.

Job Summary

The Electronics Technician works under limited direction and supervision and is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying production of electronic or mechanical products, parts, equipment, and systems – including computer equipment, instrumentation, digital/analog electronics, and electro‑mechanical devices. The role applies principles of electronics, electrical circuitry, and testing to ensure quality and reliability.

Essential Functions
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings; use manufacturing and engineering instructions for testing assembled units.
  • Create non‑conformance reports with detailed testing descriptions, failures, and root‑cause investigation results.
  • Perform all testing operations within the assigned functional area, interpreting work orders, drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
  • Calibrate or adjust units (e.g., component selection, potentiometer, shimming, bearing, gear adjustments) with mathematical calculations for voltage, resistance, impedance, flow rate, etc.
  • Use automated testing equipment and consoles to simulate in‑service specifications (vibe, burn‑in, thermal cycle, flying probe & ICT).
  • Conduct manual testing with differential meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, altitude chambers, flow meters, and hi‑pot equipment.
  • Test units from other programs and of greater complexity under limited supervision.
  • Practice safe work habits per OSHA and Crane policy; support CBS initiatives (5S, KPIs, Standard Work, Problem Solving).
  • Maintain system logs and manuals documenting testing and equipment operation.
  • Cross‑train less experienced technicians and take a leadership role in the value stream.
  • Troubleshoot production failures down to the component level.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Support customer visits and internal/external audits.
  • Perform minimal microscope/soldering work.
  • Collaborate with design and test engineering on production problems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent military experience (2‑4 years in a related field).
  • Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting methods and circuitry or mechanical characteristics for the assignment area.
  • Familiarity with product flow in manufacturing or repair environments.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new test software, identify abnormal conditions, and perform precise manual movements.
  • Experience using time‑entry, data‑entry, online training, PDM, and MRP systems.
Education / Certification
  • AA degree in Electronics or Mechanical Technology.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for efficient manufacturing.
  • Understanding of applied engineering electronics, science, and technology for design and production.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including programming.
