The Land Surveying Cad Tech is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This team member supports survey operations by processing field data, preparing detailed CAD drawings, and updating survey maps and records. Daily responsibilities include drafting boundary, topographic, utility, and construction layout surveys, coordinating with survey crews and project managers, and maintaining organized digital project files. The role involves reviewing data for accuracy, resolving minor discrepancies, and ensuring deliverables meet company and regulatory standards.
The Land Surveying Cad Tech collaborates closely with engineers, planners, and other technical staff to support project schedules and high-quality survey documentation.
- Ability to provide responsive Technical Support for surveying and CAD-related tasks, including assisting team members with software and workflow questions.
- Skills in Computer Maintenance and basic Computer Repair to keep workstations, peripherals, and survey-related hardware functioning reliably.
- Strong Troubleshooting capabilities for resolving CAD, survey data, and general computer issues efficiently.
- Working knowledge of common Operating Systems used in engineering and surveying environments, with the ability to navigate and manage system settings.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar) for drafting survey drawings and interpreting field notes.
- Understanding of land surveying principles, terminology, and practices; prior experience in a survey or civil engineering environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant technical diploma, associate degree in surveying, drafting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
