Senior Systems Admin

The Senior Systems Administrator will provide systems administration and IT maintenance activities, as required, to support 24/7/365 operations across all AFOSC PED sites.

• Assign personnel to projects, directing their activities, and evaluating their work.
• Install, maintain, configure, and ensure the integrity of computer software.
• Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
• Provide second-tier support to end-users for PC server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
• Resolve problems that the first tier of help desk support is unable to resolve.
• Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify the correct core problem.
• Simulate/recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties and/or errors.
• Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
• Maintain currency and the highest level of technical skill in the field of expertise.
• Assist with identification of equipment that needs to be acquired, equipment sustainment, and equipment distribution.
• Assist configuration manager with shipping and control, to include equipment pickup, packing, shipping, and tracking.

• 6+ years of relevant experience to the position
• Automated Information Discover Environment (AIDE)
• Full Motion Video (FMV) Principles
• Software/Hardware Troubleshooting
• Microsoft Windows Server, Windows Client, Office, Directory Services Administration, Group Policy, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Hyper‑V
• VMWare Vcenter/Vsphere
• Network Infrastructure Cabling (Fiber/Copper)
• Disaster Recovery Procedures
• Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
• TS/SCI Security Clearance

• Bachelors’ Degree in related field
• ITIL
• General Dynamics‑Missions Systems (GD‑MS) Multi‑INT Analysis and Archive System (MAAS)
• Microsoft SQL Server, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Failover Cluster Manager, and Visio
• Host‑Based Security System (HBSS)
• Information Assurance/Security (RMF)
• Life Cycle Systems Management
• Equipment Shipping/Logistics
• Documentation Control/Creation
• Database Management (SQL)
• Scripting (Java, Go, Bash)
• Middleware (Elasticsearch, Pgpool)
