Material Expeditor
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Expeditor in Fort Walton Beach, FL for an approximately six-month onsite temporary contract supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support a fast-paced manufacturing environment by releasing work packages and shop orders, tracking material and assembly status, coordinating production priorities, and maintaining accurate ERP system records. The Expeditor will work closely with planning, production, and stockroom personnel to keep materials moving through the manufacturing process.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–4 years of experience working in a team environment.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 email and Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to learn and accurately enter data into an ERP system.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle locally as required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, push materials and items on carts, and perform desk-based duties.
What You'll Do
- Release program work packages and work orders that initiate procurement, fabrication, build, repair, testing, and delivery activities.
- Monitor and report the status and delivery of assemblies for production and program planning.
- Coordinate with material planners and production supervisors regarding priorities, issues, and shop-order releases.
- Release manufacturing shop orders supporting production, spares, and repair requirements.
- Move assemblies to appropriate work centers as required.
- Perform ERP system updates, transactions, and completions accurately and on time.
- Coordinate daily with stockroom personnel, program planning, production supervisors, and manufacturing personnel.
- Help maintain material flow and production priorities based on direction from planning and production leadership.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 1st shift.
- 9/80 schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 9 hours per day, with alternating 8-hour Fridays on/off. - Tentative shift hours: 6:30 AM–3:30 PM.
