An exceptional leadership opportunity is available for an experienced PACU RN Manager to join a respected acute care hospital in the Florida Panhandle. This position offers the chance to lead a high-performing team within a collaborative perioperative environment, driving excellence in patient care, safety, and outcomes.
Position OverviewThe PACU RN Manager works in partnership with the Perioperative Director to guide all aspects of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This leader will oversee daily operations, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can effectively manage staff, promote communication, and uphold the organizations mission of providing safe, high‑quality, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership for the PACU, ensuring 24/7 delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
- Collaborate with the Perioperative Director to establish goals, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement across all perioperative services.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence and ensure compliance with all standards and policies.
- Oversee resource and equipment management, including safety surveys and capital equipment recommendations.
- Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to enhance coordination of care and patient outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare trends and PACU nursing practices to support evidence-based care.
- Ensure proper documentation, patient education, and discharge planning in collaboration with the broader care team.
- Promote a patient- and family-centered approach that supports education, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Apply strong customer service principles to deliver an exceptional experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum requirement; BSN preferred)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care PACU leadership experience (within the past year)
