Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department’s requirements and the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an outstanding patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Assesss patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provides exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
