The Triage Desk LPN at Orthopaedic Associates serves as a key point of contact for patients, providing clinical support and coordinating care based on patient needs and provider guidance. This role involves assessing patient concerns, providing education, and facilitating communication between patients and providers to ensure timely and effective care delivery.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:Clinical Director
REQUIREMENTS:- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Proficient in documenting and navigating electronic medical records;
Athena EMR preferred. - Maintains scheduled attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes efficiently.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
- Professional and courteous demeanor with patients and colleagues.
- Answer and triage incoming patient calls, assessing symptoms and determining appropriate care.
- Provide patient education and instructions per provider protocols.
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing as needed.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR system.
- Communicate effectively with providers regarding patient concerns and follow-up needs.
- Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Monitor and respond to patient messages via EMR and phone.
- Support clinical staff with administrative and patient care tasks as needed.
- Home Health-scheduling, orders, communication with patients, post care, communicate directly liaison from agencies.
- FMLA, Short Term Disability, AFLAC, etc. communicate between provider and patient.
- Voicemail rotation
- Primarily desk-based with extensive phone and computer use.
- May require occasional standing or walking within the clinic.
- Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Current Florida LPN license and BLS CPR certification.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedics or triage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems;
Athena EMR preferred. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and last-minute schedule adjustments.
- Transportation to travel between offices as needed.
