Overview

As a Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You ll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
• Evaluate the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus
• Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean sections
• Act as an advocate for patient safety
• Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment
• Educate patients regarding their medications, procedures and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start
• 1 year of RN experience in Labor & Delivery
• BSN is preferred
• Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor must be obtained prior to employment start date
