Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS). This airport is located approximately 8 miles (13 kilometers) north of Fort Walton Beach's city center. About the Facility – Eglin Air Force Base Eglin Air Force Base is in northwest Florida, comprising over 640 square miles. This is a military-friendly area and a major tourist attraction due to the white sandy beaches. Eglin is located 60 miles east of Pensacola, FL. Spanning five wars, modern-day Eglin evolved from a distant and honorable past. Eglin was established in 1935 as the Valparaiso Bombing and Gunnery Base.

Today. Eglin 96th Test Wing tests and evaluates non-nuclear munitions, electronic combat systems, and navigation/guidance systems hosting 40 tenant units representing virtually every major command including our sister services.

• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Perform physical exam and health histories.
• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
• Shall assess patients, including assess/evaluate need telephonically and recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
• Shall communicate patient/family education and telephone triage of patients.
• Shall perform/assist with procedures such as injections, IV medications/infusions, administration of oxygen, visual acuity tests, EEGs, EKGs, phlebotomy and other clinic specific procedures, in accordance with established protocols. Shall make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
• Shall possess knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing pediatric, adolescent, and adults as appropriate. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
• Shall possess ability to acquire and use basic computer skills to enter patient data and extract patient's information, from a variety of sources to include Genesis, Essentris, ASIMS, AMWITS, Humana TRICARE, and Integrated Clinical Database (ICDB).
• Shall possess basic knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient's condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
